https://www.leaguevine.com/games/27392/ - FINALS STATS
o Looking more at these stats...
1) Pitt had FIVE players with 10+ throws/completions (and three more with 5+). It's much harder to stop a team with 5-8 Nate Kinsingers/Michael Schwenks/Chris O'Connells than 2 or 3. Get workin' fellas!
2) TOs: Pitt - 13, WI - 17 ...Cherish the disc like it was your wife, mother, grandmother, best friend, newborn child, and last cold beer at the party all in one.
3) D points played: Pitt had 7 people that played a lot of points, all of them D points (ok, ONE guys had 2 O points...) to WI's 3 comparable players. Sure, everybody likes to play offense and start with the disc and be a hero with a big cut. But it's the guys that get their ass up and EARN the disc that put the W in the win column.
4) The big one: Defensive Efficiency. Games aren't won unless you've got something in this category. Only ONE player on Pitt had a D-Eff less than ANY WI player (and that just barely). Break points lead to morale boost (ours), pressure building (them), and puts you in control of the game. This is the difference between beating a team even as good as Wisconsin by 5 and coming down to a nail biter every time it's a big game.
Offensive guys, work on your throws/decision making. Completion > distance.
Defensive guys, work on your throws. IF YOU CAN'T THROW, WE CAN'T WIN. Plain and simple.
